What is Varsity?

The Squash Varsity is an annual match between the Cambridge and Oxford squash clubs. Since the 1960s, the Blues' match between the first teams has been held almost continuously at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London. Matches also occur between the universities' second and third teams, usually in either Cambridge or Oxford.

Since the first mens' varsity in 1925 and the first official women's varsity in 1993, both Cambridge Blues sides have managed to accumulate a slender lead in the overall number of victories. Reports from the most recent Varsity matches can be found in this section.

The Varsity matches are a great opportunity to represent the University. Winning Varsity is the fundamental aim of the year's training, and is followed by a celebratory dinner at the R.A.C., much enjoyed by all.
